Hammers of Moradin

As one of the original Dwarves that Moradin created, the Ancient Dwarves have the lingering presence bestowed upon them from being in the presence of Moradin. The divine aura that covers them give them abilities different to the regular Dwarf. The Ancient Dwarves, having interacted directly with Moradin and having been blessed and favoured by the deity, formed the Hammers of Moradin, a military order designed to both protect and lead the Dwarven race the way of Moradin’s morals. They are seen by the other Dwarves as both leaders as well as powerful warriors, those that lead the battle from the frontlines.

Summary

Ancient Dwarves are the original Dwarves, having a lingering divine aura from their interactions with Moradin, while he personally created them. Although they look similar to other dwarves, they have their own specific features. The Ancient Dwarves were split into two types of Dwarves, the Stone Dwarves and the Earth Dwarves. Ancient Dwarves look similar to regular dwarves, but they have a faint divine aura that emanates off of them. The Stone Dwarves also have a granite type gleam to their skin, like their body was made from a type of marbled rock. The Earth Dwarves have a darker skin tone than other dwarves and give off a scent of mud and dirt.

Historical Basis

The Hammers of Moradin were the original dwarves and most dwarves are descendants from them. The Stone Dwarves were made to represent the strong, hard and sturdy nature of Moradin, therefore they were hardy and powerful in nature. Their descendants are the Mountain Dwarves that are in the world. The Earth Dwarves were made to represent the connection dwarves had with Moradin and the world, so they had a strong connection with the ground. Their Descendants are the Hill Dwarves in the world.
