Thunnos-Thesi Atmoploio
Churning the waters outside the port of Nikopolis, and across the great waves of the Khorophlogos Sea, the Thunnos-Class Steamliner is an older, albeit reliable, class of luxury passenger vessel. Built between the years of 1776 and 1786 by the Nikitis Shipbuilding Company, 4 Thunnos-Class ships were created, with two of them surviving to this day. They are managed by the Iliodysi Oceanlines Company, ferrying wealthy passengers between the ports of Nikopolis, Speio, Ricco Rifugio, and Nuevo Lanzeo.
Ships of the Class
Megalos Thunnos (1776-1800)
The First of the Thunnos-Class, and the namesake of the class, The Megalos Thunnos had a successful career running for 24 years primarily between the ports of Nikopolis and Ricco Rifugio. Around the turn of the century, the Iliodysi Company chose to decommission the ship and it was scrapped in 1800.Lotos (1778-1778)
Built following the success of the Megalos Thunnos, the Lotos, unfortunately, had a catastrophic accident during its third voyage, rounding the cape of Aniketos on its way to Ricco Rifugio.Agia Calypso (1785-)
After the incident with the Lotos, the two additional ships commissioned were put on hold. Eventually completed seven years later, the Agia Calypso has been a fairly successful ship, repeatedly making journeys between Nikopolis, Speio, and Ricco Rifugio. It's still in working order to this day, currently in port at Speio.Areiadora (1786-)
The Final Thunnos, the Areiadora was completed shortly after the Agia Calypso. Primarily running between Nikopolis and Nuevo Lanzeo, the ship is still in working order and is currently in port at Nikopolis.Power Generation
A Thunnos contains eight double-ended coal-burning boilers, as well as four compound steam engines. In total, about 360 tonnes of coal are consumed per day.
Propulsion
A Thunnos is propelled by two screw propellers, standard on most large modern ships. In case something happens to the engines or either of the propellers, there are two auxillary masts located at the fore and aft of the main deck, which can hoist basic sails.
