Kinnabari Kremnoi

Located along the northern coast of Lukhora, the Kinnabari Cliffs are a stunning sight to see. The cliffs are noteworthy for the striking rose-red coloration, granting the site its name, although the rock does not in actuality contain any cinnabar. The cliff's red color comes from a high amount of iron and chromium found within the stone, and it actually isn't too rare to find small rubies mixed within the sand below. The site is often combed over by Makadelian archaologists, as the Pyrsos Lukhoros Citadel can be found nearby and there is evidence of many battles having happened along the coast, likely between native inhabitants and overseas invasions from Sovrano.

Geography

The cliffs ascend aproximately 400 feet above sea level over the Kyanos Sea, ranging a bit as plains turn into hills which turn into mountains nearby. The cliffs also stretch about 16 miles across, before reaching about sea level. Below the cliffs, beaches can be found with sand the same orange-red color as the cliffs. Caves can also be found upon the cliff faces, though not connected to any impressive cave systems, which are often times used as shelter by various wildlife and even humanoids.

Ecosystem

A number of plants and animals make their home in and around the caves found throughout the cliffs, as well as living along the sandy beaches below or open plains above. On the beaches, various crustaceans and seabirds can be found, along with the occasional sea turtle preparing to lay eggs. The cliffs themselves are home to various animals like bats, goats, and reptiles while the caves occasionally house troglodytes. The plains above host the widest variety of wildlife, including gazelle, camels, and Catoblepas.
