University of El'Daesh

The University of El'Daesh is one of the most famous learning institutes in the world. Located on one of the floating districts of this world, it oversees the city from high above. Its educational standards are very high, and people travel from all over the world to partake in its classes.
The University is most renowned for its classes on the subject of magic. There is a wide variety of classes to take in one's first years of study, after which one can move on to the more advanced and obscure projects.
Aside from subjects on magic, the University also supplies more mundane subjects, such as mathematics, astronomy, linguistics, medicine, and philosophy.

Structure

As a student, you enroll in the university by taking the Enrolment Test. You then get a tuition according to your cognitive abilities. You enroll for classes you choose yourself. The first half of the year, you take all basic classes, minus the linguistics and astronomy section. In the second half, you decide which areas you want to specialize in, but you are free to choose your classes yourself. If one chooses magic, one first takes all the basic magic classes before specializing in one of the eight schools of magic: Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchanting, Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy and Transmutation.
First year students are called Novices, until they have chosen their discipline. After this, they become Disciples. One stays a Disciple until they graduate their subjects after three years, after which one becomes an Acolyte. Students can then decide to continue their studies or leave the University. The subjects are then replaced by subjects in the respective fields of choice of the Acolyte. Through these projects of research, Acolytes are taught complex magics. Once the professors decide that a person has advanced enough, one becomes a Magister and is officially done with the University.
Many Magisters decide to continue their magical research in El’Daesh and either become a professor or a researcher. Some become adventurers, when the call of secrets waiting to be uncovered becomes too much for them.
