Feather of the Phoenix

"Why can't I worship Taria the way I want to? Aren't praising to the same god anyway, so why does it matter how I do it?"
— A worshipper of Taria, who carries a feather
It is an object which symbolises one's belief of Taria; Goddess of Creation. There is a disagreement within Taria's Order, along with many other, where some claim Taria is a Phoenix as opposed to being a person. The Order decrees Taria is a person and thus reject her being a Phoenix. This is because the Order assiciates the Phoenix as a creature of fire and destruction.   However many citizens of Atharia and other planes who follow the Goddess, Taria; view the Phoenix has a symbol of birth, life after death and lightness over darkness. As these people are often persecuted for this belief, many have resorted to keeping their true faith a secret. However, many who still need a way to express their devotion to the goddess and they do this by carrying a golden feather somewhere on their person.

The Feather

"But it does matter as it is not the way of the Order and it is the Order's way which keeps the light bright, thus keeping the peace."
— A worshipper of Taria, who does not carry a feather
The feather does not need to be golden, however this is the more traditional way. Gold connotates the Sun, also known as Taria's Light. The feather also follows the tale of how Taria lit up the world's forge with a feather of a Phoenix. As not everybody has access to a golden feather, many are content with dedicating any kind of feather as a symbol of their belief.

The Order

Even though it is not illegal to carry this feather, those who are found with it may given a hard time by those who align themselves along with the Order. High Preistess, Beldina Darkflower's stance on the situation is to not persecute those who wish to praise to Taria the way they want to.
"If Taria is willing to love all of her children, then perhaps we should love our brothers and sisters."
