Nicholas Cartridge

Overview

A Nicholas Cartridge is any kind of bullet with a specific load, specifically a bit of ash from a fallen Söldners body.   The story goes that one Nicholas Altwheel, one of the first English Söldners in the 1920ies, asked his friends, in the case he should be killed, to shoot who or whatever did it with a bullet containing a piece of him. A request his companions gladly obliged after he was shot in the back by an Atherton man.   Since then these types of bullets have become keepsakes and good luck charms, or just a way to remember a good friend amongst Söldner all over the continent.   Some go so far as to ascribe some sort of mystical properties to these bullets, with some claiming they never miss or that no matter the caliber they can fell a man in one shot.   The most common form of these bullets are handloaded and contain less than a thimble of dead man's ash, mixed with the powder used for the specific caliber and features the name of the ash donor carved into the bullet itself.
