Grandes Entreprises

Five trading houses rule over Europe. Five companies, ruled by five families. Together they form the Grandes Entreprises, an organization sworn to keep each other in check for the good of them all. Each of the five families sends one member yearly to a secret meeting, held in one of the great cities of Europe, planned and protected by the hosting company. The organization is a council of equals, where by unanimous decision (except for the accused of course) one of the members can be punished by the rest, for in their minds, none other can judge them and neither king nor god holds sway over them.
