Speaking in Tongues, a Guide to Languages

Menfolk

Language of Humans

When you learn "Common", instead choose 2 languages from this list.

Mohr

The tongue of the Mohrite. Many of its words are stolen from Mohnagi, but is still close enough to Solm to be considered its own language.

Verd

The tongue of the Verdant Expanse. Despite originating from Solm, Verd is spoken quickly and is considered a beautiful language by most.

Solm

The tongue of the Solemn Expanse. Slow and deep, Solm at its core is a archaic language that at times can verge on guttural when speaking of religion.

Language of Dwarves

Ilromnol

The tongue of the Mountain Dwarves. Sharp, crude, but efficient Ilromnol is the most common language of the Dwarven people.

Telvnol

The tongue of the Blackhill Dwarves. Originally a language only spoken by nobility, it is now known as "Blacktongue" or "Slavetongue" by the Dwarven people. Its words are more fluid than that of Ilromnol but still harsh.

Vushnol

The tongue of the Sand Dwarves. A strange mixture of Mohnagi and Telvnol, this language is nearly impossible to translate. It is slowly dying as more and more Sand Dwarves begin to prefer Mohnagi.

Langauge of Giants

Guashn

The tongue of Goliaths and most Giants. Though it is a verbal language, much of it is communicated non-verbally through various hand gestures and barring of teeth.

Faefolk

Elvish

Will be broken into 3 different languages, eventually.

Beastfolk

Loxodon

Native language of the Loxodon.

Yulpic

Native language of the Kushtaka.

Greenfolk

Mohnagi

The language of the Greenfolk and considered "common" of the Parched Expanse.

Goobish

Native language of the Goblins

Wyldfolk

Sylvan

Spoken by the trees, beasts, and Centaurs, Sylvan is also the native tongue of the Wyldfolk. Druids also learn this language.
