Sand mounts are used by Barrenlanders to cross the Barrenlands in search of resources to help them survive the harsh environment.
On top of the base model known as "Racer", there are three types of specialized sand mounts, known as "Leaper", "Rammer", "Lugger".
Racer Model sand mounts are designed for speed across the sands and loose rock of the Barrenlands. They are lightly armored and often take up the run 'n' gun tactic when faced with threats in the Barrenlands.
Leaper Model sand mounts are designed for bursts of vertical speeds and travel among the islands connected to the Barrenlands. They are lightly armored and have a singular submachine gun attached to the bottom, designed to fire down when the Leaper is in the air. These sand mounts can carry
Rammer Model sand mounts are designed to slam into large targets, such as large Hydro Heads or mineral-rich rock, in an effort to destroy it. They are heavily armored and have a single machine gun attached to the back that is meant to be operated by a second person.
Lugger Model sand mounts are designed to carry large amounts of cargo. They are heavily armored and have a turret manned by a small crew. Unfortunately, they are not fast and need to have other sand mounts nearby to keep themselves safe from multiple threats.

Power Generation

The base model of a sand mounts relays on a combustion engine to generate power for driving.

Propulsion

The combustion engine runs on biofuel generated in Salem, stolen from Asylum City, or obtained through the traders that come down from the Space Elevator.

Weapons & Armament

The base model carries a pair of submachine guns mounted on either side of the chassis.
