Luna (luːnə, "LOO" + "nuh")

One of the larger cities along the eastern shoreline of Iomare, Luna is best known as the former site of a great Elven city, renowned for the advanced magics and esoteric arts practiced by the populace. After a catastrophic event connected to interplanar anchoring and travel, a vast majority of the city was leveled, and most of the city itself disappeared alongside much of the population. What remains is still a functioning port city, though the lesson of hubris and humility still hangs over the elves who survived, and more groups of individuals from beyond the city's borders have come to know Luna as their new home.

Mired in a continuing and burgeoning political contest between various groups who have managed to wrest power in the vacuum of the previous regime, the citizens of the city try to move forward with their lives. The shadows of such great failure linger, however, with the very landscape scarred and shaped from the anchoring attempts and the appearances of myriad creatures unknown to the region plaguing the living. The city pushes forward despite these new and odd changes in its world, and the world around it moves on, but now with the knowledge of what may happen should one raise themselves above others to the likings of the gods.
