Session 11: The Harpies Song Report

General Summary

Summary

Players snuck into the harpies tower, set fire to the nest, accidentally summoned an elemental, collected a magic item and a harpies egg. Landar and Reeman poisoned some mean, hid inside and got dropped 60ft into the wyverns nest. Torgan was too curious and abandoned the resting parting in the tower to find where Landar and Reeman went. Eagles dropping more food into the wyvern nest found him and forced him into to jump into the nest. Woke up the wyvern and got killed alone in the dark.
1. Snuck into tower with Mila's manure potion designed to smell like 'harpy'
2. Landar saw a cloak fluttering in the wind stuck on a twig of the harpies nest which was perched atop the ruined tower.
3. 4 harpies could be roughly seen in the nest aswell as childish giggling.
4. Torgan cast detect magic and noticed the cloak was magical. Cast scorching ray at the nest and started a blaze.
5. A harpy attempted to charm the party off the cliff with its song but failed. Party only heard horrible screeching.
6. Other harpies decided to save their young and fly away.
7. One was killed by Reeman and Ashes as cannonball attempted to jump and pull it back down to the ground in the ruined tower.
8. From within the building bonfire a purple corruption began to flicker as a flaming elemental began pulling itself out.
9. Ashes and cannonball rushed to the top of the nest. Cannonball grabbed the cape and tried smothering the flame with some success.
10. Ashes was confronted with the last harpy attempting to retrieve its unhatched egg from the nest. After a few claws it got the message that Ashes gesturing that she meant no harm and letting it take the egg and leave.
11. Torgan commanded the corrupt fire elemental to 'attack his enemies' which it responded 'I will burn them only for you' just as Cannonball managed to push the fledgling elemental back into the Internal Horizon using the magic cloak.
12. Reeman shot the harpy directly up its leg, forcing it to drop the egg into Blue's waiting claws.
13.Blue fell into Mila's hands as Landar noticed the first harpy returning with Giant eagles.
14. Two dropped their meals intended for the wyvern to fight the party as the third eagle didn’t get the message and disappeared into the cave.
15. After a losing fight for the egg the eagles pulled the harpy away from its death. Unfortunately Cannonballs flail was already in motion and killed it, leading to the eagles retreating.
16. The party decided to short rest within the tower.
17. Landar convinced Reeman to join his plan. He poisoned the dead elks with paralytic poison that Mila extracted from the carrion crawlers after Rolf was paralysed and almost taking. The two then got inside the bodies and waited to be picked up and taken into the cave. Reeman had a bite of the unpoisoned meat inside.
18. The elks were dropped 60 ft into the wyverns cave at which point Reeman and Landar realised they were stuck. They couldnt see beyond the small circle of light piercing from the hole in the roof as Blue and his darkvision was asleep with the group in the tower.They found their way away from the sleeping breaths of the wyvern into darkness, finding a crevice in what felt like a caved in to hide in for a short rest.
19. The rain picked up on the surface and Torgan decided to venture alone into the cave with hopes of being dry and finding Reeman and Landar. After a relativly brief journey he found the hole with a 60ft drop. Two more eagles were dropping food to the wyvern and spotted him.
20. With some loud shrieks Torgan was forced to levitate into the hole. However down below the eagles caws had awoken the wyvern which made a dash for him.
21. The wyvern flew over Torgans missing both its bite and its claw only to pierce torgans shell with its trailing tail. It broke his shell and lanced him with poison, almost singularly killing him. Torgan ran into the darkness looking for safety only to find another caved in wall.
22. Landar and Reeman heard the commotion end abruptly with a sickening crack from the far side of the cave and the sound of the wyvern gorging.
