Welcome to Hanzelot

-Are you sure this is a proper welcome?
-At least they don't want to kill us...yet.
— Two space travelers in some forgotten planet

What is a home?

Hanzelot is a galaxy which, like any other known galaxy, is the home of a billion of stars and planetary systems. What is special about this quirky galaxy is that only thirteen planets are inhabited by sapient (or at least they like to think about themselves in those terms) beings. How they came to exist, inhabit and rule these planets? The experts are still debating about that question. Most people just want to survive another day.

The galaxy is big.

The planets are a grain of dust.

How they will find each other in the endless sky?

The distances beetwen planets are so big that it's impossible for these sapient beings to survive a journey with the current technology, even for the most resourceful societies.

Let's get out of here

We'll come back and our glory will be remembered for all eternity
— Captain Visser

Every planet faces different challenges and needs help, but some of them were presented with a miracle, an opportunity too tempting and too good to resist. Wormholes opened for unknown reasons to travel in a blink of an eye to another planet. Travels that would have been thousands of years long.

Dethion was one of the planets that put their entire future and survival in the hope to find another one to conquer, enslave, and exploit. A brave crew was trained to beat (almost) all the odds. Fatan, a ship full of wonderful and never seen technology was built to be the home of this crew. Another ship was built in case the first one exploded.

Fatan is traveling and did not explode.

Other societies in other planets tried to do the same with different levels of success, but that's a story for another time.

In the multicity of options we can find fun, horror and beauty

-What in Soma's name is that?
— The same two lost travelers from the first quote

Thirteen inhabited planets means a lot of lives, a lot of landscapes, a lot of questions and history.

This is a fantastic welcoming article. I know you mentioned is a WIP, but it's looking great already. The humor in the reminds me a bit of Douglas Adams :3

Douglas Adams!!! That's high praise :) I wouldn't be here and keep improving as a writer without your support and example. Thank you <3

Am I writing or procastinating? Take a guess and visit my galaxy

This is a great little introductory article. Like Evan said, I'm reminded a lot of Douglas Adams. It's coming together nicely even if it's still a WIP. :)
