Setting Up the Statblock

  • Go to Author Tools - Manuscript and Story Progress and click the left bottom button that says 'Copy into (your world's name)'
  • Make a copy of the block
  • Go to your Tools->Statblocks and find your statblock.
  • Click 'Edit Sheet'. Fill in the fields.
  • 'To do' is the default.
  • What if I Don't Need All the Steps Listed on the Statblock?

    You can choose 'hide' in the dropdown list for a step to have it not show.
    Manuscript progress - hide option

    BBCode

    View and copy ('Copy Block') the statblock, then paste it into your page.
    Copy the block for use in your world

    CSS

    The CSS classes setup in this block include:
  • .book-progress-block - Class for the overall block
  • .book-progress-key - Class for the symbol key
  • .book-progress-milestone - Class for the list of milestones in the process
  •   Here is the CSS code I used to create the statblock. So this is likely what you'll want to change.   .book-progress-block .far.fa-circle { color: white;}
    - the 'To Do' icon color   .book-progress-block .fas.fa-spinner {color: grey;}
    - the 'In Progress' icon color   .book-progress-block .far.fa-clock {color: yellow;}
    - the 'Waiting' icon color   .book-progress-block .fas.fa-check-circle {color: green;} - the 'Done' icon color
      .book-progress-key { color: white; background: #ffffff10; padding: 0px 10px 5px 10px; border-radius: 10px;} - The container for the icon key box   .book-progress-key p{ color: white;} - the color of the text in the key box   .book-progress-block h4, .book-progress-block h5 { color: white; padding-top: 15px; padding-bottom: 15px;} - the h4 and h5 headings - color of the text, and giving spacing above and below the headers

    What If I Want to Edit the Process Steps Listed in the Block?

    Click 'Duplicate Block Template' and feel free to make your own version.
    Make a copy of the block
      I can't cover the steps for that. But feel free to read up about it. The code is pretty simple. And ask your questions in the WA discord's #custom-articles-and-statblocks-help.

    I'd love to see your manuscript/story progress and what you do with the block! Let me know in the comments or a Discord DM. ;)

    If you'd like to learn more about CSS, check out FreeCodeCamp and w3schools' CSS Reference.

    The WA Codex is a good place to start learning about how to play in WA.

    WA's discord #guild-css-help channel is also great. I hang out there just to learn from what people ask about.

    Glad to share! I know I’m not the only one who wants to communicate about books in progress.
