Untamed Appetites: A Guide to Centaur Cuisine

Purpose

Untamed Appetites exists as a collection of recipes and culinary techniques gathered from the lush and wild homeland of the Centaur-folk, as well as some Wildehart favourites that feature various exotic twists. This compilation of exotic food practices was created in an effort to spread less bland cuisine into the regular diet of Wildehart natives, of which it's author counted themselves among, though it would be a lie to say that some small amount of profit was not also one of the author's various goals.

Document Structure

Clauses

The self proclaimed "exotic cookbook" features a number of different recipes and culinary techniques native to the Centaur people, and as such are divided and categorized by their type and purpose during a meal. For instance, there are seperate categories for smaller entree style dishes, main courses, sweeter desserts and even beverages, as well as a special section made for spicing up staple dishes of Wildehart natives with more interesting flavours.

Publication Status

"Untamed Appetites: A Guide to Centaur Cuisine" has been widely published, though the book itself was far from a best-seller in the author's native land of Wildehart. That's not to say that it hasn't spread across the land, as copies have found their way to homes in even the harsh reaches of Kaldrold, it's just that the bold flavours and heavy abundance of fruits found in many of the recipes just didn't sit well with the every day Wildehart palate.

Historical Details

Public Reaction

This book of recipes serves as an attempt to inject a little Centaur culture into the predominantly human cultures of Wildehart, though it's effectiveness has been debatable. Wildehart tastes weren't overly appreciative of Centaur cuisine's bold flavours and heavy reliance on fruit in so many meals, and the Centaurs who had collaborated with the author were surprised to see some of their contributions had been lessened, or even removed entirely, presumably to account for Wildehart tastes. Ultimately, the book served as a taste compromise that satisfied very few.
