Gwymir

10 Years after the Moons Collapse

Created by

To know the beginning one must understand “Gwymir”, an unknown word from an unknown time meaning “Home”. But before Gwymir and all that is known, there was only one, an entity who surpasses all beings and is unfathomable which formed our world. What happened to its people and kin are unknown except for it being the creator of our beloved Gwymir. In the beginning there were Humans, curious and defiant creatures who wished to explore, rule, love, and grow. Aside from the Humans he formed other beings; both grand and small. He created the glorious Dragons and Beasts from which he would uphold his authority amongst smaller creatures, beings of the night which would wander Gwymirs depths and caves. Finally he birthed three Deities to lead and guide each of the three powers of our world; The Immortal king Lorian of the Human Empire, The Brood-mother Indra of the Beasts and Dragons, and Lastly Bram the Recluse Seer of Night. With his Three Lords of Gwymir, the Creator ruled and nurtured Gwymir with a strong and faithful love. His three children split the lands evenly amongst each other as Lorian and the Human empire took the lands and forests for their own, while Indra and her legion of Dragons and other creatures claimed the high peaks and mountains in the sky. Lastly Bram sought the dark and peaceful quiet of the caves and channels underground with his creatures of the night, only venturing above when the moon shines full. As all seemed in order as per The Creators grand design, it announced to it's Sons and Daughter that it shall enter what would be known as the "Creators Rest", sleeping for an unknown amount of time to regain the power it had lost forging this world.
The Creator, Life-giver of Gwymir
by Unknown
With their empires and lands formed, each Lord bore children of their own to help rule their lands; each with a divine touch from their dormant grandfather, The Creator. Lorian and his Eight sons split the Empire of Humans to 8 different Capitals, naming themselves the 8 Dukes of Lorian. Indra and her legions of beasts bore two children; Kata the Queen of Dragons and Sor the King of the Mountains. Lastly, Brom who bore a single child; The Seer of the Moon; Kos. Kos was born special, with a power greater than that of his father and was chosen as the shining Bulwark of the Moon itself, that which brings the very night his Father rules. He was intelligent above all else, but bore an almost dark radiancy around him. Since his birth he developed a keen interest in the dark, as it was all that surrounded the moon he so valiantly protected; claiming he would hear voices from the dark, speaking to him. Unknowing of its origin or intention, he would speak to the voice, learning from it and it learning from him. This went on for many years, until one day the voice asked him a question that would change all of Gwymir.     Through temptation and vile seduction the voice broke Kos, bending the once stoic figure of strength amongst Gwymir to it's will - granting it life, and most importantly; a name. Kos named the dark that encompassed the earth, forever branding it as "Kull" (Kull, The Unholy Corrupter) the embodiment of depravity and all things vile. Kos, as a final sign of resistance to the overwhelming corruption attempted to seal Kull away in its first few moments of life by trapping it within the moon he had vowed to protect. Knowing it was much too late for him, Kos broke his soul into 6 pieces. dropping the half that was still pure to the earth below. Hoping that those who are strong enough may bond with him in order to ultimately defeat the monster he had created. However Kos and his attempt to seal Kull in the Moon we're all but in vain, as Kull corrupted it's prison, making it it's new home; birthing to the world vile and grotesque beings of the Abyss it called home. Kos was overtaken, and the Moon was now broken - leaving the three domains of Gwymir to brace for the impending threat lead by Kull and the now corrupted Kos, breaker of the Moon.
“As Moon and Gwymir crumble from a God gone mad, And our Lord's retreat in fear of losing what they have, Take up arms, both child and man and heed the drums of war, And pray for the child of Kos, kin of the land we adore,. But fear the dark child, as Kull shall hide the Dark as Light to trick your hand, And force upon you a decision that would break any man.” -‘Prophecy of Kos’ By: Grand Cardinal Asoph
