Seasonal Chaos and the Fievnit

Ever since the begin of the Moon Rise era, reports and journals shows accounts of seaons being out of synch. Happening at random intervals and for seemingly arbitrary durations. The only constant is that the Fievnit always marks the change of a season.
The Fievnit is a period of 5 days at the end of the year where the sun doesn't shine. The world is shrouded in darkness and planar travel becomes easier to achieve.
Every season length is decided at random. Roll 6d4 to set the duration of the next season in weeks (ranging from 5 weeks to 30). Whenever the Fievnit happens, the current season is still in effect until the end of the Fievnit. Then the next season begins, also with a random duration. A more chaotic duration can be achieved by rolling 3d8 instead.   The seasons do cycle normally and in order; spring, then summer, then autumn, then winter.
