Fyrite

Fyrite is a very rare metal that sometimes forms when fresh lava or magma cools against obsidian or bedrock. It often contains many trace amounts of diamond which must be removed when forging. The way it is often processed is through an extremely hot crucible forge where the diamonds are able to move freely from the soft Fyrite. A special type of hammer and anvil must be used when forging the metal or the crystalline structure can become too brittle and a poorly crafted weapon from pyrite explodes like a prince rupert's drop. This explosion is extremely dangerous sending shrapnel pieces flying. The most dedicated smiths of Fyrite are hill and/or mountain(Fire) giants. They often wear flak aprons with headgear when forging it for safety reasons.
