With the Drider

The party has decided to accompany the drider in some form or fashion. They are interrogated and learn a bit about the monster world.   Baeru takes you to what's left of his people -- there are about fifty left. The new leader is a haggard old woman named Eneha. She is wary of you but practical: you may be a good weapon against other humanoids, and turning you over to the Many-Headed Council may prove to be a boon for the drider. You and a small team split off from the rest in order to go east, towards the Overlook.     The drider offer to tell the story of the encroachment of the humanoids. The tale, you might think, would start with their arrival, but in fact we start with De'Quvara hundreds of years ago falling into a stupor, cring of doom. Everyone ignored the priestess, as is the folly of tarrasque. The arrival of elves, gnomes, halflings, and aarakocra, the breeding of the half-elves, the release of the dwarves, the creation of the dragonborn and tieflings. How no one worried at first, since humanoids had never been a blight before: humans were annoying but akin to pests, and dwarves had long ago been held in check deep in their mountains. Monsters were almost unaware of the new humanoids until the attacks started. Still no one was truly worried until the humanoids brought down one of the tarrasque, the fiercest fighters in the world. One of the monsters' greatest advantages was their ability to run: the humanoids conquered slowly, as the land is so big for a mere humanoid to walk through.     The drider have always been outcasts/social pariah, but the humanoids made their discrimination so much worse. The humanoid threat has been going on for ~200 years, ever since Eneha was a girl. Aka, a very short time for a monster.
