Sica-Ang

The First Pariah Monk, Master of Manifestation, Creator of the Sanctuary

Written by writingsurreal

General Physical Attributes

Sica-Ang, formerly known as WritingSurreal, is in decent physical shape. They were injured while serving in the USMC, but are working towards a full recovery. As a supplement to their practice of Light Literomancy, Sica-Ang practices an intense regimen of daily physcial exercise. This regimen is a requirement for practitioners of the Arts of the New Aeon philosophy/religion (see religion article), and as a result, any serious practitioner of the Arts of the New Aeon is generally able to demonstrate impressive physical strength and muscular endurance. Despite their strength and endurance, however, Sica-Ang is quite prone to physical injuries and is required to use extreme caution when performing any feats of strength. Apart from their human form, Sica-Ang has the ability to transform into a Snowy Owl. This ability was granted to them by the Three Elders of the Forest after he freed them from their imprisonment in the Realm of Confusion. They often transform into their owl form whenever they leave the sanctuary in order to avoid being recognized by any malicious entities that may be lurking in the plane of physical reality. Sica-Ang also has manifested and created a creature named Demolition Jones who is an extension of their own Self. They created Demolition Jones, or DJO for short, on accident one day when experimenting with Literomancy during a shamanic drum journey. DJO has been by Sica-Ang's side ever since, and they are inseperable. DJO is believed to be the manifestation of Sica-Ang's inner child, because of this Sica-Ang is not able to atune to their inner child whenever they are apart from DJO.

Body Features

Sica-Ang stands at six-feet tall, with wide, muscular shoulders and muscular legs. They have long, blonde hair and a long, strawberry-blonde beard. Their entire body is covered in tattoos portraying various occult symbols and concepts - Including symbolism derived from the religion/philosophy of the Arts of the New Aeon. The physical features of their Owl Form are that of a typical Snowy Owl found in the physical realm.DJO's physical appearance is that of a turtle mixed with a rabbit. DJO has rabbit's fur and ears, but also has a turtle shell that they retreat to whenever they feel threatened or bored or tired or whenever they feel like it, really. The color of DJO's fur changes depending on their mood: -Blue: Satisfied, Homeostasis, Neutral -Crimson: Angered, Annoyed -Pink: Flattered, Embarrassed -White: Spiritual -Rainbow: Manic, Unsure, Anxiety ridden -Green: Happy -Black: Sad, Melancholic

Facial Features

Sica-Ang's face is also covered in runic tattoos, however after becoming a Pariah (Practitioner of the Arts of the New Aeon) they made a vow to never show their face again to anyone other than other Pariahs.

Apparel and Accessories

Sica-Ang is always dressed in a set of dark-green robes; hooded and a veil over their face. When they're out and about inside the sanctuary, they are often carrying turquoise Mala beads (108 beads used for mantra meditation, which is another requirement of the Pariahs). They also carry a leather side-bag in which to hold various magical herbs, incense, tarot decks, runes, pencils, and journals. They are always barefoot, another tradition of the Pariah Monks meant to cultivate a deeper relationship to nature; Sica-Ang does not particularly like this tradition, and typically steers newer Pariah's away from it until they gain greater physical endurance because it is quite painful, especially when smelling the roses.

Specialized Equipment

Sica-Ang took a vow of pacifism after their transformation from WritingSurreal into Sica-Ang. As a result of this vow, Sica-Ang does not carry any weapons meant for combat, however they do wield a wooden oak staff named Vimdeykti (meaning showing of vehemence) which can act as a powerful ward against physical objects; it is possible for the ward to be broken, however. Vimdeykti was another gift from the Three Elders of the Forest. Aside from Vimdeykti, Sica-Ang carries with them a variety of herbs for healing physical and mental disorders, though their healing power through the use of herbal magic alone is miniscule. They also carry a special Tarot deck given to them by an incarnation of one of the lesser deities of Death in the universe named Har-Ramoon, who was the deity that initially set Sica-Ang on the Path of Peace. They faced the Realm of Confusion and came out a transformed being. Sica-Ang uses the Tarot deck for divination purposes, doing readings for themself as well as the other Pariahs, or any Literomancers who seem to have strayed from the path and are searching for guidance. They also carry a set of specialized runes for both divination and rune magic. These runes are entirely separate from the Elder Futhark, and Ogham, however they were used as inspiration when Sica-Ang created them.

Personal History

Sica-Ang was known as WritingSurreal before their transformation. WritingSurreal was born in Minnesota and had a very difficult childhood which resulted in struggles with depression, anxiety, and addiction. This lead to him seeking solace in various religions, philosophies, and occult practices in his early years and continuing through to adulthood. Powers of Literomancy began to manifest when WritingSurreal was very young, thanks to his grandmother who introduced him to many great works of fiction. Throughout the years, WritingSurreal studied the art of Literomancy and it's powers, but never put them to good use until much later in life after his Trial and Transformation into Sica-Ang. WritingSurreal enlisted in the military immediately after highschool, which he just barely graduated with a 1.9 GPA. His family did not have a lot of money and so college wasn't an option and he didn't want to enter the workforce and stay in Minnesota, the greater world called out to him and the only way he could answer its calls was by joining the Marine Corps where he stayed for five years and worked as a Korean Linguist. WritingSurreal learned many valuable lessons while in the Marine Corps, but due to injuries and struggles with mental health, he was forced to leave after his first enlistment. After leaving the military, WritingSurreal was lost, and incredibly depressed. He once again turned to occultism, religion, philosophy, and Literomancy in order to fill the void in his heart. One day, he attempted to invoke his Holy Guardian Spirit, opening a gateway between the physical and astral/spiritual realms. An unknown entity, who was not WritingSurreal's Holy Guardian Spirit appeared before him. The entity had apparently escaped the Realm of Confusion through WritingSurreal's gateway, but would be pulled back in unless they were replaced with another being. The entity was in a panic, clearly unstable, and pleaded with WritingSurreal to help them escape the realm. WritingSurreal did not know any better, had no idea what delving into the Realm of Confusion would be like, and so accepted the unknown entity's proposal. Almost nothing is known about WritingSurreal's time in the Realm of Confusion, only that it was full of pain, suffering, and agony. Most of the entities and otherworldly beings who had attempted to face the Realm of Confusion before him did not ever make it out and were stuck there for eternity, until WritingSurreal freed them. It is theorized that WritingSurreal used a combination of Literomancy and Occult practices to transform both himself into the non-binary Sica-Ang and the Realm of Confusion itself into what is now called The Sanctuary; freeing every entity who was once stuck there. After the tranformation into Sica-Ang, they developed a highly technical religion/philosophy called the Arts of the New Aeon along with a system of magical and physical practices all aiming towards helping those who are struggling with their mental health and reaching self-actualization. The ultimate goal of the Arts of the New Aeon system is to allow Pariahs to discover their Life's Purpose, and once they have been set on the Life Path, they begin mentor-ship of a new practitioner of the ANA (Arts of the New Aeon) and guide them on the Path of Peace. Due to being stuck in the sanctuary and helping new Pariah's with their progress on the Paths, Sica-Ang had no idea about the Word Wars, the Undead Horde, or even the fact that there were other powerful Literomancers. It was only after visiting the physical realm after being away for three earth years that they discovered the Literomancer Houses and pledged themself to House Meles; to the King Badger, the Chief Badger, the Great Badger, Wordlord of Meles, Darth Nikolas Meles.

Motivation

Sica-Ang's main goal, and their Life Path consists of helping other Literomancer's increase their power and proficiency in the craft in order to help keep the physical realm safe from the Undead Horde and any other evils that may threaten it.

Morals/Philosophy

Sica-Ang's personality achetype is Chaotic-Good. They want nothing more than to help people fulfill their potential, but can be over-bearing when it comes to things they're passionate about - as characterized by DJO. More in-depth details of Sica-Ang's Philosophy and religion can be found in the Arts of the New Aeon section.
