Fairyland is a wildly popular amusement park located just outside
New Byworth. It is themed around the animated and live-action films by Fae Studios, which all take place in a magical world (loosely) inspired by ancient Crathlian legends of fairies.
Constructed just after the
Great War, it took advantage of the communal
Crathlian desire to return to innocence and happier things after the horrors of wartime. As far as I can see from the experiences of peers I know personally and those who have posted online, Crathlians around
my age (i.e. children born during the postwar baby boom) almost universally have nostalgic feelings towards this park. (I don't particularly care for it myself, but perhaps that is because I never went as a child, nor grew up on the films. In any case, that's not the topic of this article.)
