Ameiko Kaijitsu returns to Sandpoint to attend her mother’s funeral and buys the Rusty Dragon inn.
The glowing blot that had hovered over the island known as the Devil's Elbow (off the coast of Riddleport) disappeared. That evening, a star fell from the sky and burned over Riddleport before it crashed into the Devil's Elbow. The impact sent a huge mushroom cloud billowing into the sky. The shockwave from the impact shook Riddleport, with tremors felt as far away as Magnimar. A fifteen-foot tsunami that followed roared into Riddleport harbor. Luckily, because of the shape of the harbor and the presence of the Cypergate, the wave was taken down to only seven or eight feet high. It was still enough to beach ships and slam into the buildings near the harbor.
The Guardians of Golarion attacked the drow's alchemical weapon workshop. In the raid, Proteus was killed by the drow alchemist.
The Celwynvian Guard, Lantern Bearers and Guardians of Golarion make a full-scale attack on Celwynvian.
The Guardians of Golarion, accompanied by Shen Stroheim, discover an old dragon's lair in search of artifacts valuable to Crying Leaf. During the exploration, Ella was slain by void-fuelled zombies, while Shen was slain by the drow wizard Nolveniss.
The Guardians returned to the base camp where they learned that Kaerishiel had been slain during a torture interrogation. Fjord was missing and presumed to be held captive in the Academy of the Arts. The Guardians return to Riddleport to restock, refuel, and retrain. During that time, Kaerishiel was to be returned to Kyonin for resurrection and recovery of his own.
After returning the the base camp, Eviana proposes a three-pronged attack against the Academy of Arts to take down the drow leadership. One group was led by Kaerishiel, the second by Shalelu, and the third was the Guardians of Golarion.
The Guardians fought a fulad-zereh demon that was protecting the portal to the Armageddon Echo. During that battle, Buck was slain and both Reh and Jobu were petrified. Kaerishiel and Shaleu were seen within the portal as it closed. Fjord was retrieved at the cost of his leg. Arcaan, a former acquaintance of slain Guardian Winnifred, was sent out of the portal and revealed that he had been enslaved. With the portal closed, the Guardians trapped the demon's corpse and fled the Academy.
The Guardians of Golarion defeated Nolveniss, the leader of the invading drow forces. Nolveniss morphed into a large, demonic creature who claimed to be Zalatas. Zalatas fled and the Guardians returned to Crying Leaf as victors.
After deflecting an undead attack on Crying Leaf, the Guardians of Golarion accepted the invitation of the now-vampiric Kaerishiel to meet him within the Armageddon Echo. Knowing Nolveniss was also waiting for them within the shadow dimension as well, the Guardians prepared themselves before entering the Echo and facing their foes once and for all.
Maly's Wonderous Vault, the premiere magical shop in Riddleport, was destroyed. Its owner, Maly, was slain and her body was found amidst the rubble. Her daughter Anen was missing.
The people of Varisia had terrible nightmares, all at the same time. Those who were not sleeping at the time suffered a blackout episode followed by the nightmare. At first it seemed like a localized event, but over time it became clear that the event was very widespread.
Somewhere below a nondescript temple in Riddleport, an ancient Temple of the Chained God known as Tharzduun was discovered. Despite being thousands of years old, the temple was inhabited by Voidcaller priests, followers of Tharzduun. Also within the temple was a dragon stone containing a fragment of the soul of Zalatas, Herald of Tharzduun.
Deep within the Darklands, in the Temple of Tharzduun, the Master Glyph was destroyed by the Guardians of Golarion. This prevented a second Age of Darkness by stopping a giant asteroid from striking Golarion. While the main destruction was narrowly averted, some debris still rained down. Most of it struck uninhabited areas, but several tons of rock rained down on the ancient dormant volcano located on the surface directly above the Master Glyph. The city of Cauldron, located inside the dormant volcano, suffered catastrophic damage.
The Whispering Tyrant freed himself from Gallowspire after 300 years of imprisonment.
The Swallowtail Festival happens in Sandpoint, celebrating the opening of the Sandpoint Cathedral and paying respect to those lost during the Late Unpleasantness. During the celebration, there is a goblin raid, and a party of heroes who will come to be called the Saviors of Sandpoint fend them off.
Ameiko Kaijitsu disappears overnight, and clues seem to point to her family's Glassworks Factory. The Saviors of Sandpoint investigate the Sandpoint Glassworks, discovering Tsuto Kaijitsu is responsible for the kidnapping murder of his "father", Lonjiku Kaijitsu. Beneath the Glassworks they discover a hidden cave system that they believe is a means for the goblins to enter the town for a second attack. They also discover a temple of Lamashtu that was also a former temple to the Runelord of Wrath.
Having discovered that the mastermind behind the potential goblin invasion was headquartered in Thistletop, the Saviors of Sandpoint took the fight to the fort.
Sheriff Belor Hemlock requests aid in investigating a ritual-styled murder. Most disturbing is that this is the second ritual murder scene in the past few days. He fears a repeat of the Chopper serial killer fiasco.
Ven Vinder, his wife Solsta, and daughter Shayliss Vinder buried the remains of eldest daughter Katrine Vinder. Father Zantus conducted the ceremony. Solsta wept and wrapped her arms around Ven. Ven held her and stared at the dirt being dumped into the hole. He looked very much like a broken man. Shayliss hugged herself and quietly sobbed.
Tiberius Dragonhammer came from Riddleport to publically challenge Grog to a duel. Tiberius believed that by defeating the hobgoblin in a duel, Tiberius would be granted a magical Wish. He head been told that Grog possessed genie blood and was able to perform such an act. With several dozen people watching outside of town, Tiberius expanded his challenge from just Grog to all member of the Saviors of Sandpoint. In the end, the heroes were able to defeat the Riddleport Wrecker.
The Saviors of Sandpoint traveled to Magnimar to search for clues in the townhouse of Aldern Foxglove and find out who else was connected to the killings. Upon arriving in Magnimar, they learned that there had been similarly styled killings going on in the city as well. Clues led them to a sawmill, which turned out to be the headquarters of a death cult to Norgorber, aka Father Skinsaw. The cult was led by Justice Ironbriar, a well-respected member of the community. But he was not the true mastermind behind the ritual killings. That belonged to Xanesha , a powerful lamia who had enthralled Ironbriar and used his cult to cultivate souls. Why she wanted this was as yet unknown. The Saviors of Sandpoint confronted her and managed to drive her out of Magnimar, never to return.
The Saviors of Sandpoint were asked by the Order of Magnimar Security, on behalf of Lord-Mayor Haldmeer Grobaras, to investigate a situation near the remote village of Turtleback Ferry. A military outpost near the town, Fort Rannick, had gone silent and the mayor of Turtleback Ferry, Maelin Shreed, has requested that Lord-Mayor Grobaras send someone to check on the status of the Fort. While the Lord-Mayor is in no hurry to send resources to check on such a remote outpost, the OMS has taken it upon themselves to investigate the situation.
The Saviors of Sandpoint discovered that the Order of the Black Arrows had been almost entirely wiped out. Fort Rannick had been taken over by the Kreeg clan of ogres, thanks to the betrayal of one of their own Black Arrow members. The Saviors of Sandpoint fought the ogres to take back the fort.
A band of ogres, led by the hobgoblin monk Sereg, attempted to destroy the dam known as Skull's Crossing. Their plot was foiled by the Saviors of Sandpoint.
A band of Stone Giants, led by Lord Blackmoor and Deathwing, his Thassalonian dragon construct, attacked the town of Sandpoint. They tried to gather up prisoners and loot but were driven back by the Saviors of Sandpoint. Blackmoor was killed, as was Gallious, a member of the Saviors of Sandpoint.
Mokmurian, the stone giant wizard who was forming an army on behalf of Karzoug, the Runelord of Greed, was slain by the Saviors of Sandpoint. Days later, the army Mokmurian had amassed around Jorgenfist dispersed.
The Saviors of Sandpoint explored Runeforge, a demiplane where the Runelords would have their people conduct magical experiments and research. The heroes hoped to find something to aid them in their fight against Karzough, Runelord of Greed.
Reports throughout Varisia (and possibly further) indicated that people heard the sound of a gong. A moment later, a spectral clock would appear behind victims who seem to be momentarily frozen in time, their faces locked in terror as they stared at some unseen horror. The victims then vanished without a trace. The source of the gong, and the location of the victims, are unknown.
Within the Eye of Avarice, the Saviors of Sandpoint went face-to-face with Karzoug the Runelord of Greed. Karzoug had been focusing souls filled with greed into his runewell, allowing him to manifest a physical body so that he could leave the Eye and return to his throne in Xin-Shalast. From there, he planned to resume his war against what is now known as Varisia, turning it into New Thassalon and claiming it for himself. But the Saviors of Sandpoint foiled those plans by killing Karzoug. Karzoug's dismembered corpse, to be consumed by the planes on either side of the dimensional demiplane - the Plane of Fire and the nightmare plane of Leng.
