Titus Scarnetti is the head of the noble Scarnetti family in the Varisian town of
Sandpoint. He controls all of Sandpoint's mills and lumber yards and is, therefore, one of the most powerful people on the Lost Coast. Nobleman Scarnetti is quite conservative and traditional in his thinking, which often puts him at odds with the other people in town. This disconnect has cost him the race for mayor every time he has run against the more likeable
Kendra Deverin, and no love is lost between the two. Lately, there have been rumours that Titus has links to certain nefarious individuals in the Sandpoint area—including members of the Sczarni criminal gangs—which have greatly reduced his standing in town.
Relatives
Titus is the only surviving son of
Alamon Scarnetti, who assaulted the local Varisians more than 40 years ago but was not punished for this crime. Titus is married to
Delarah and has three children: a daughter named
Tirra, and two sons named
Charn and
Lianel. His aunt
Enid and her son
Adimar originally lived in
Riddleport, but have since been forced to flee to Titus' residence in Sandpoint to avoid reprisal.
During a stone giant invasion on Sandpoint (led by
Lord Blackmoor ), Scaretti Manor was attacked by the stone giants and Blackmoor. They were confronted by the
Saviors of Sandpoint and combat ensured. Sadly, the Scarnetti family was caught in the crossfire, and only Titus and his daughter Tirra survived.
In the aftermath, Tirra left Sandpoint and returned to Magnimar. Titus stayed behind and rebuilt Scarnetti Manor.
Seat of Power
In an attempt to get to
Jayvielle,
Maximus Merilander kidnapped Jayvielle's cousin - the mayor of Sandpoint,
Kendra Deverin. The Merchant's League needed someone to lead the town during this time. Given his position in town, Titus Scarnetti was voted into the position of "interim mayor."
Needless to say, this did not set well with Jayvielle and the Saviors of Sandpoint.
Kendra was returned to town with a warning for Jayvielle. But when the heroes notified the interim mayor that the true mayor had returned, Scarnetti would not relent in the position. The man who kidnapped Deverin was still out there and had so little regard for her cousin and his friends that he simply let her go. He could abduct her again at any point, and the town would be right back to where they were currently with Titus in charge.
Even under threat of violence, Scarnetti would not relent. He told them that it was best for Sandpoint to keep him in the role of mayor until the Saviors of Sandpoint could produce evidence that Kendra Deverin's kidnapper was dead. Once there was no longer a threat to her, Titus assured the heroes that he would relinquish his seat to the former mayor without issue. Until then, he would do what was best for Sandpoint. And what was best for Sandpoint did not involve their so-called "saviours" flexing their bravado in his face.
"You're frauds," Scarnetti told them. "You're reckless, and you are far from being saviours. Now get out of my office."
