Jason

Jason is a paladin devoted to the goddess Hera, and he is also captain of the Argo in its quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece of Colchis. His crew includes the main party members, Atalanta, Caeneus, and Calais and Zetes. He also tried to recruit Heracles and Orpheus. He appears very devout, heroic, and altruistic, but he often rushes headlong into battles without thinking and his main strength is in physical fighting.
In Session 16: Dangers and Dragons, he reveals his motivation for going on the glorious quest:

"I grew up poor, living with my old, ailing father. One day I was crossing a river when I noticed an old lady on the riverbank. I offered to carry her on my back, and as I forded the river, she began whispering in my ear. It was Hera. And she told me if I went on this glorious quest and brought back the Golden Fleece, my dad and I would never want for anything again. So, of course, I set out to do it. But my dad’s health isn’t good, and I’m worried that if I don’t come back soon, I won’t ever see him again.”
