Life Harvest

Life Harvest is a profession of a magic practice that is so dangerous to the point that the subject (can only be a living being with a consciousness) of the profession will most usually and likely result in death. Due to the death rate, this practice is illegal throughout all the realms of the continent. The profession of Life Harvest is simply extracting the life force of the subject. This profession is also extremely hard to perform. No one wants to be the subject, yet some are abducted and would become the subject forcefully. The extracted life force, in a form of aura, is held in a small jar and can be sold for a fortune. A small jar of life force can be used as medicine for mental wounds, yet if applied too much, the consumer will die to Life Fire (the soul is burned away by too much life). If one applies life force in one's life, he or she will also die to Life Fire. Rarely, the substance can grant longer life spans. There are only two case that ever occurred. The first case and the most likely, is the subject ending up dead due to the harvester extracting too much life force so the subject. The second case, relatively rarer than the first case, is the extracted drained enough of the subject's life force to keep he or her alive, yet the subject cannot move his or her body nor use his or her mind to think. Food and water must be fed into the subjects mouths in order to keep him or her alive, and the. The subject is technically petrified for life or as civilians describe the victims, "Living Corpses". If the extractor is captured by the government, he or she (mainly male) would be sentence to death.

Qualifications

There are no requirements since the whole profession is illegal. However, to extract successfully, one must have a Level of Master (the highest level in a subject) understanding of Life Magic (the magic of living things), and a Level of Master in healing.

This profession only operates in the black market, and is still really rare.

The professionals of this field is rewarded with death when caught by the government. However, they will be rewarded a fortune from a buyer.

History

The profession of Life Theft is a fairly old profession. However, the circumstances of this practice was different. Back then, it is only practised when a person is willing sacrifice his or her life force to save another under death conditions. It was called life transfer. As time passed, this profession was beginning to be abandoned, as the medical technologies improved. The buyers also did not want to sacrifice themselves, or even just ordering the service for selfish reasons. With no one to harvest the life force from, the extractors began to abduct innocent peasants for the harvesting. The profession was discovered and banned across the land. It became known as Life Theft.
