Silver Ocean Navigation Treaty

This is a non-binding treaty where member navies are obligated to destroy any ship thought to partake in piracy, and offer support to any ship in distress. Member nations ports are required to offer repairs at cost to any naval vessel engaged in anti-piracy or afflicted by such. Although not all citizens of the members states totally support the treaty, it is hard to argue with results, which have been resoundingly positive. Piracy is almost a non-issue in the Silver Ocean, although some nations allegedly partake in Privateering. This has been neither confirmed nor denied.

It is written as an amendment to the charter of the Galladian Alliance that all members must support this treaty and actively participate. Any member found to be in violation of this treaty or actively carrying out piracy against another member of the Galladian Alliance would be removed from that Alliance.

It is rare for ships to call upon the repair portion of the treaty if they are in a foreign nations port, especially a nation on the the other side of the Silver Ocean. It is usually only called upon in the most dire of circumstances. It has also fueled a bit of resentment towards the major nations in the smaller cities of Midmara and Storm Stone, who usually quarter the anti-piracy squadrons and are forced to supply them.
