Taryn’s boyfriend, Micheal, was a very important scientist, and she was madly in love with him. They had been close since childhood. He proposed to her shortly after her 20th birthday, but less than a week later disappeared. She searched for him high and low, but she couldn't contact him or even find a hint of where he had gone. She was heartbroken. Taryn knew that he was involved in high up operations, closely tied to the Union's plans of planetary relocation, and she suspected that the government was somehow involved in his rapid disappearance. Whether he was dead, or simply being held hostage, she wanted to find out what happened to him and more than anything she wanted to get back at the people who took him from her.
One day while she was outside the compound, she was hiding from a passing patrol when she stumbled upon two other girls hiding. She was immediately skeptical of the two, as they were of her, but after a short standoff, it was determined that neither group contained an undercover guardsman. Nikki and Amara, as the two girls identified themselves, asked which compound Taryn was a part of and when they found out they were all based out of the same area, invited her to join their ragtag group. Taryn of course refused at first, sure that she didn't need anyone else's help. It wasn't until they had run into each other three more times outside of the compound that she agreed that there was probably safety in numbers.
