Royal Lasiamon

The Royal Lasiamon is a horse breed that was developed for speed and agility. Often called the 'Queen's Horse' they are very powerful creatures despite their rather delicate appearance and are considered very stately animals. They are often used as race horses, messenger steeds, and are generally kept by royal families as royal mounts.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The royal lasiamon breed is characterized primarly by their slender frames, wedge shaped heads, large eyes, broad forehead, short muzzels and large nostrils. They are also known for their arched necks and deceptively light musculature.   Typically they stand about 5 feet tall at the shoulder and weight around 1000 pounds. They are known to have a higher bone density than most other horse breeds as well, which allows them to carry heavier loads despite their size and apperance.

Genetics and Reproduction

Breeding season occurs during summer and their gestation period is around a 340 days. They typically only give birth to one foal at a time though twins do happen occasionally.

Foal:

Birth to 3-6 months.  

Weanling:

3-6 months to one year old.  

Yearling:

1 to 2 years old.  

Adolescent:

2 to 3 years old.  

Adulthood:

4 to 20-25 years old.  

Senior:

20-30 years old depending on the breed.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are herbivorous animals that subsist on grass, grains, and some fruits and veggies like carrots and apples.

Behaviour

They are very willing to learn and to please in training however they are also incredibly stubborn and hot-tempered horses. They live very actively and can be feircely loyal though they are not known to easily forgive ill-treatment and have a tendency to be very picky.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

These horses have been used for everything from racing horses to war horses. Their most notable use though is as royal mounts, as they are fast, sturdy, intelligent, and strong meaning they are very good at helping monarchs escape from dangerous situations and survive battlefields.

They are found all over Glenerene due to their versatility and popularity.

HIghly intellegent creatures with the ability to recognize and remember their owner's face and voice quickly. In addition they are quick to learn commands and to respond to impromptu stimuli.

Royal lasiamon are highly alert animals due to their heigtened hearing, smell, and ability to detect small movemets around them. These traits were selecitevly bred into them in order to create a highly versitile and useful horse.
