"Imagine you’re a fish, swimming in a pond. You can move forward and back, side to side, but never up out of the water. If someone were standing beside the pond, watching you, you’d have no idea they were there. To you, that little pond is an entire universe. Now imagine that someone reaches down and lifts you out of the pond. You see that what you thought was the entire world is only a small pool. You see other ponds. Trees. The sky above. You realize you’re a part of a much larger and more mysterious reality than you had ever dreamed of."- Blake Crouch
Many humans have always asked the important question:
Is there any life out there in the cosmos?
Many scientists have tried to feasibly wonder if there could be any life outside our blue planet, waiting to be discovered. While some say there could've been life on Mars from millions of years ago, we'd had nothing concrete to confirm it. So people kept wondering, wondering, and wondering, if such a possibility truly exists in the vast sea of galaxies. So many exoplanets, some very well capable to harvest life of some kind, surely there must be something other than us, right? Well.....
(Pin that, we'll get back to that.)
Roughly 2 1/2 centuries ago, humanity was suffering from their arrogance on global warming, deforestation, mass pollution, and many more natural issues we all come to learn around that time many decades before. Of course at that time, governments, politicians, and any folk of higher classes didn't care less about these life-changing threats than can be irreversible. If no action was made, we would cause our own extinction. But ironically, nature had other plans...
As quick as it appeared, mysterious super virus agents feeding off the bone marrow of domesticated mammals such as cows & dogs. Soon after however, it evolved to infect human bones to a voracious degree. Many people weren't as worried at first given the last possible major outbreak of pathogens, but. was proven wrong when this agent infecting dozens in a couple days, thousands in weeks, and millions within mere months. Citizens filled with hysteria, while scientists unsure to reduce the carnage from the unfathomable deaths. More and more patients were dropping like flies, doubling, tripling or even quadrupling, in a matter of weeks to many hard months.
Soon after, a great expansion of science & technology began. From as quick as it happen, people began to create as-of-then unimaginable machinery and tools. We in the future would now call that time in human history as The Great Expansion.
