The Calamity

Year Sixty-One of the Age of the Revival of the Sea, Midsummer

One fateful day, unforetold by any prophecy or seer, the great mountain was struck by a meteor, sending debris and avalanche upon the city. The most fortunate of the city's inhabitants died a painless death as chunks of mountain descended upon the buildings, markets, and houses. Those less fortunate experienced a mysterious toxic haze that descended upon them from the crater. For twenty years the city has been left to rot under the venomous air, twisting the life it did not outright extinguish.

The Royal Family

King Ragvald and his wife, along with the elder of his two sons, Brody, were known to be inside the palace at the time of the meteor strike. Their fate is unknown, though they are presumed dead. It is unknown where Ragvald's younger son Astin was. It is known that the captain of the Kingsguard, the brave Corona, was not in the city during the event.
