Teriflor (Tear-ee-floor)

The walled capital of Kirian encompasses a third of Ashia, the middle province. It's where the Palace and the smaller Shelu field is located. It's also a port city and has the largest marketplace in the country. Many people are drawn to the city for the possibilities that come from such a big city, but the main population are in the countryside producing materials.
The core of the city was established quickly after the success of the rebellion. After taking down the warlord and old regime, their places of power were destroyed as well. Most of the West was in shambles and to build a new era where such corruption had occurred was not an option. This led them to move East, but along the way they found a small field of Shelu. It seemed an omen to cross such beauty after such fighting and destruction.
They took a look around, enjoyed the ocean view and the peace and decided to settle between the ocean and the Shelu field. The settlement started out strong. The Zai family were considered heroes, not royals. At first they lived among their people who had fought with them, but as the settlement grew and they faced other difficulties, their house grew larger and larger.
Eventually this became a type of compound where everyone involved in the day to day of the royals would live in the Palace. As the city became more sophisticated, it also became bigger. The most important addition being the port leading the city to truly become a metropolis.

Government

This is where the Palace is and where all of the royal family resides. All country-wide decisions are made here. It is the capital city and has been since after the rebellion that established the Zai family as the new rulers.
The King, the Council and Desidi all reside and work in The Palace. There are also town and city level councils that are subject to the King and defer to him. They attend a conference once per year at the Palace and send for advice from the King whenever a problem proves to be more complicated or bigger than expected.
It is the King's responsibility to respond to these in a timely manner with sound advice.

Districts

The city has an unofficial separation of the Northeast and the Southwest. This is because of the way that residents settled into the area.  Merchants chose to settle in the Northeast in order to be closer to the port. Naturally most shops and businesses formed in this area.  Nobility in an attempt to be closer to royalty and further from peasantry settled in the Northeast. Here you get the bigger homes and the more expensive boutiques.
This partition is there, but not entirely significant. Where the nobility live is a much smaller portion of the city and everyone from around the country go to the marketplace to shop regardless of class.
