Ellara's Rage

Have you ever seen a Heimatwelter who's raging? It's terrifying. They don't die. You can shoot them until their chest is a gaping hole. And they'll keep coming. I don't know what they do. Maybe they're a cult or something. But if you ever hear them coming. Run. You won't survive. They'll make sure of it.
-Stepmorian Bunker Commander, Speaking on Heimatwelter Berserkers to his platoon.

One of the powers of Heimatwelters, Ellara's rage dates back to the Gods War, 2500 years before the current time, when Ellara's brother Krieg was killed by Ronebore. Ellara was so distraught she began breaking her own rules of war. Offering no quarter to Stepmorians. Those who did manage to surrender, were marched out to the Shayeda desert, stripped of weapons and tools, and left alone. Many perished. Some joined the Shayeda tribesmen.
Due to Ellara's unbridled anger and rage, many Heimatwelters felt a twinge in their very soul during battle. During a last stand, a Kommandant jumped up, giving a speech, the weary and tired Heimatwelters felt their bodies charge up again. The one Stepmorian who survived wrote an entry in his journal of what he saw. It was later picked up by a Heimatwelter recon crew when they ran him down.
I don't know how it happened. We had those blasted Heimatwelters on the run. They were ragged and beaten. We were just about to push over the barbed wire, then they came out. Huffing steam, their eyes glowing. We started shooting and gore went everywhere. But only a few fell. They pushed us back. Bleeding, missing limbs, some only having arms, some only having legs. But they pushed us back. I don't know how they did it. But they did. Everyone is gone, I am the only survivor.

Indicators

Indications of a raging Heimatwelter are easily spotted.
  • The persons breathing will spike; deep, heavy breaths.
  • What looks like steam will come from the persons nose.
  • The persons eyes will glow.
  • The person will become faster and stronger.
  • The person will be unable to be killed unless the brain is destroyed.
  • Any injuries sustained while berserking will not cause the death of the person, unless their heart was destroyed and a replacement was not found in time (Usually 10 hours)

Lasting Effects

While there are no specific, detrimental effects from raging, the damages from the combat are permanent.   Heimatwelt has a large amount of disabled veterans. Although most soldiers have received prosthetics. Replacing the limbs they've lost and keeping them active. Although that is mostly in the current age. Older soldiers have older prosthetics, examples are Andre Spritz until he received a prototype leg from the Commonwealth.
