The Tree of Origins

"When the humans arrived in Ghiadum, they hunted magical creatures and those who wielded magic," Ratimir began, "The Tree of Origins was the source and wellspring of said magic, so it was a primary target for the Knights Venandi. Fortunately, before they could find it, the Fae cast a spell to hide it from the invaders. It is said only the enchanters themselves and someone with the same arcane power would be able to find it."
The Fae on his shoulder nodded enthusiastically and twittered to Elias, "Hark, mortal Elias. I shall returneth to the Tree and useth my power to create a new generation of the Fae ere the Venandi demons slay me. Only then shall the balance in Ghiadum be restored."
"You need to stop talking like that 'cause I can't understand a word you're saying."

History

The Tree of Origins began as a seed planted on a strong well of magic deep with the earth. As it grew and grew, the magic flooded to the surface and pulsed into the rest of the forest. The Tree created the Fae, the keepers and guardians of magic and the Tree. The evolved race of the Elves discovered this Tree at the beginning of the Crystal Age. When the magic had spread across the land, the Elves had also gained a fraction of the arcane power, and so they understood they must protect the Tree along with the Fae in order to keep it.
The humans who arrived at the end of the Crystal Age, however, did not think the same. They were fearful of the power the Tree possessed and sought to destroy it and the creatures who protected it. However, as a last resort before fleeing, the Fae cast a powerful enchantment that only the strongest magic wielders would be able to get through. To the rest of the population, the Tree could not be seen, and it has remained hidden since.

Geography

The Tree lies in the middle of the Grand Forest, with a small moat surrounding it and a bridge of vines.

From the diary of a Venandi Knight

Supposedly, there is a source of these demonic Fae creatures deep in the Grand Forest. A "Tree of Origins" as the Elves say. This well of arcane power has the ability to create life forms, and it must be demolished.
