Getnian Cataclysm

A celestial disaster on a scale unseen since by most of the living races, the Getninian cataclysm is the term given to a series of natural disasters, magical events, and other, unexplained happenings that plunged the Kingdom of Felora and other elder societies into thousand-year dark ages. The event sealed off he world from it's material echoes, making travel to the Planes of Twilight and Shadow almost impossible.

The Feloran People's perspective on events is detailed through the chain of Feloran Epic Myths.   Several magical anomalies have also been discovered throughout history since the cataclysm. It is believed that the natural ether that seperates the planes was damaged during the cataclysm, leaving magical "scars" with indeterminate and varied lasting effects. Some of these scars effect the environment around them, others effect only a certain area, and others yet act as portals or gateways to other planes.   The ramifications were so widespread it is believed to have resulted in a permanent reshaping of planar relations and barriers, as well as altering the natural orders of other planes affecting their denizens biologies.
