Jei tìl Sae'adar (ˈdʒei tɪl seɪ'ɑdɑɹ)
The Jei tìl Sae'adar (common: Healing Ward of Sae'adar, literally "city ward of Sae'adar") is a hospital run by Vìndiyrn Möv kèn Lutfullah, a Dotharan healer and scientist. It is officially owned by the city, who's ruling council holds the lease on the property, and in exchange for the resources and financial support to practice and develop "Dotharan medicine", Lutfullah will treat the residents of Sae'adar for maladies and injuries.
Purpose / Function
Jei'tìl is a place of healing and research. Residents and visitors to the city are able to seek medical treatment for virtually any ailment, although Vìndiyrn has been known to turn away supposedly minor maladies, sometimes with instructions for treatment at home. Under the terms of his lease with the Governing Council, he must use his research to better treat the people of Sae'adar.
Architecture
The clinic is constructed in the typical Dotharan style of architecture, which is a blending of Hadar and Feloran elements. It is constructed with local materials, notably the wood of the Dotharan mahogany tree and andesite from the Dotharic Orc Polity's quarries. Above the entrance to the clinic is Eu̯àŋ's ward of healing, a glyph that functions as a heal spell for those who pass under it.
History
The clinic was founded in the year 360 of the New Era, Feloran Solar Calendar, as part of an agreement between Vìndiyrn Lutfullah and the Governing Council of Sae'adar. Lutfullah comes from a family of healers in the folk tradition of the Formen people, a now-defunct ethnic group subsumed into the Felorans, with which Dotharan culture is a partial revival. He took on 3 assistants and has since expanded his staff to a group of 15 trained in basic medicine.
In the clinic's 7 or so decades of existence, Möv Lutfullah – as his patients refer to him – has treated illnesses that would have surely been fatal practically anywhere else. In 403 NE, Möv Lutfullah's research was instrumental in determining the cause and source of a local plague, an infected well that was contaminating the water supply of up to a third of the city, as well as the subsequent invention of the Potion of Lesser Restoration. As the city has grown in population and size, however, the strain on the hospital has become greater, and Möv Lutfullah has begun training some of his most promising students in hopes of sending them to other locations in Sae'adar and eventually, other Dotharan cities.
