Alexander Doukas is the current leader of the legislature, for the Exarchate of Polanis, its Consul. Am ambitious man by nature, Alexander Doukas has used his influence, and a historically weak and malleable monarch to dramatically expand the powers of the Senate seizing even peacetime control of the military, as well as having near total control over the passage of laws in Polanis. Doukas has tried to pressure the Senate to extend his term, that he might become the true de facto leader of the Exarchate, but has so far been stonewalled by conservative members of the Senate, fearing a coup attempt by the Doukas family against traditional patricians.
