Turmanian Empire

The Turmanian Empire covers the majority of the northern continent. It is split into five cantons, each ruled by a regional official who is also of the Turmani family either by blood or marriage. 
The capital Poshana Wat operates as an independent city-state. It serves as the hub for trade*, military, administration, and spiritualism/faith. The Grand Turmani (title of the sitting emperor/empress) resides in the Golden Fortress deep within Poshana Wat's heavily fortified city walls. 
*Trade both within the empire and with external partners.
Each canton represents one of the five elements that are ingrained into Turmani society and at the root of the philosophical faith of the Turmani people.
