Valadhon

The island nation of Valadhon is a string of barren, snowy mountains rising up out of the Sea of Sorrows. Mighty waves crash against its rocky shores. Clinging to the mountainsides above the water are stone keeps with fishing villages huddled around them, each one ruled by a ruthless baron who answers to the Warlord of Valadhon, Olgrave Redaxe (CN male human berserker). Most of the inhabitants live in a few settlements clustered around the twin bays on the northern shore, overlooked by the island's highest mountain, The Whitewyrm Mountains. Caves in the mountain's peak serve as a lair for Arveiaturace, the white dragon known to sailors as Iceclaws because of her habit of diving on hapless vessels and tearing them apart with her talons. Valadhon's largest community is Gunnivik, while the island's smaller coastal settlements include the fishing and trapping villages of Arlswold and Threwick. The natives of Valadhon survive by catching fish and hunting goats, seals, and whales. The island boasts a large yeti population. They feed on mountain goats, avoiding Southlanders unless food is scarce.
