The Realm of Tionnon

Before the rise of the Kingdom of Mithlothlond, the dragons of Elion fought and feuded over territory, wealth, and reputations. They guarded their own lairs and minions and cared not for the "lesser" races that roamed the lands. The Mithlorians changed all of this forever.   Divided and alone, the Mithlorians and their Titans conquered dragon after dragon. Those that survived were forced to flee to the south east corner of the continent, hiding in the hills and jungles, struggling to survive. After years of this dismal existence, one dragon finally had enough. Tionnon (Ti-on-non), a cunning and persuasive ancient dragon, summoned all of the dragons to meet in what would become the first meeting of The Council of X. Despite a myriad of personalities, grudges and rivalries, Tionnon managed to unite the dragons with a simple premise - collective defence.   During The Great Rebellion against the Kingdom of Mithlothlond this meant fighting side by side against a common enemy. But after that conflict, it meant that an attack by one dragon on another resulted in a united retaliation by all other dragons. This threat of assured destruction kept all dragons in check and unified a nation. Over time, dragons of every colour learned to coexist, and their minions began to interact, trade, and prosper.   Unfortunately, Tionnon did not survive to see her accomplishment. At the Battle of Esseas, she was mortally wounded as she and a number of other dragons fought to provide the remaining dragonkin time to retreat from the Mithlorians final assault. Her body is now entombed there, and the site is considered holy by all dragonkin. No living creature is allowed to set foot in the city as a sign of respect. Only dying dragons may enter, as they join their leader in their final moments.
