Her biological parents are unknown, but she does know her mother had her when she was very young, and rather than aborting her she decided to put her up for adoption.
Her adoptive mother is Antonella, a leader of a rebel group called Bebarak. Nika doesn’t know this, and thinks her mother is just a businesswoman. Her adoptive father, Ivano, worked as an accountant. He was pretty ordinary, and Nika didn’t understand why her parents got a divorce and her mother moved to France.

Antonella doesn’t talk to her daughter about her past, but her father’s family is mainly from Croatia and Romania, with the one Spanish Aunt, but nobody talks about her.
