Brittlebowl

Brittlebow is a small village of a few hundred buildings, located on the southern hills at the edge of the Cedarro, the ‘Great Savanna’. Recently there has been a great boom of activity, with throngs of visitors and travelers thanks to Roondar Boddynock, finding gold in a stream near the town. Brittlebow is nothing more than a shanty town with small badly built houses that are basically thrown-together hovels and tents encircled by a stone wall, that is far more robust than anything in the town. The town also has several sheep farms and Peat from the fens in the valley below.

Demographics

The population of Brittlebowl is 50% Gnome, 25% Firbolg, 15% Half-elf, and 10% are a mix of other races. the majority of the people are able to provide for themselves, most of the town’s population have enough to live a modest life. and those without are a minority.

Government

The town is run by the Marquis Nackle Tenderfoot who was "elected" by the townsfolk.

Defences

Brittlebowl is heavily fortified and surrounded by a heavy stone wall, with several watchtowers built along its length. The gate is double-thickness and reinforced with metal bands and there are additional watchtowers built at various points throughout the surrounding countryside, Brittlebowl has a town watch that is run by an appointed captain, with one lieutenant, and enough guards, to adequately guard key points in the town with token patrols. There is an Infantry Squad of 10 men with a Sergeant that is in town that is trying to get medical aid.

Industry & Trade

The town is functional and generates a modest to good amount of coin. Brittlebowl imports Coal and Linen and exports Wool and Peat. The market is tight and it only has room for a few key vendor stalls. Vendor stalls are acquired on a first-come first-served basis. Merchants line up prior to market day and those at the front of the line are given first pick of the available stall spaces, provided they can pay the fee for the day. Excess vendors are allowed to set up stalls but the town Watch does not patrol or monitor these areas.

Infrastructure

The town has been well managed, with all of the fundamental elements being accounted for and well attended to. Whoever is responsible is doing an admirable job.

Assets

The town has a group of agricultural farms in the surrounding countryside and exports Wool and Peat. Recently there has been a large number of gold camps scattered throughout the countryside.

  • A tailor there are a fair amount of items, although nothing is extraordinary among them.
  • The Stumble Inn, An Inn and Tavern with offerings that are lacking not only in quantity but in quality as well. Grime and filth is evident throughout, and the odors are an affront to your sense of smell.
  • Gimbles Glorious Goods, A General Store with staff that are is eager to assist you and show off a wide array of 'high quality' items. There is a wonderful aroma of incense or perfume that permeates the shop.
  • A Stables and smithy the offerings are lacking not only in quantity but in quality as well. Grime and filth is evident throughout the shop, the odors are an affront to your sense of smell.

Tourism

Massive groups of people throng the streets, likely spilling out onto the roads outside town, congestion is an ever-present reality, and a regular issue. Locals don't care much for visitors, looking upon them with contempt, fear, or suspicion.
