Dol'hasmen'belorukas

The City-State of Dol'hasmen'belorukas (Usually translated, The City Protecting Humanity, Watching for Ork Attack), is one of the eldest cities in the world. Back when times were fair and the Dark Mistress did not bring terror to the world, it was a simple border town that allowed the Elves of Oruuul to trade with the Mannish nations of the north. In it's over 2000 years of existing the 2 Keep-Cities have never fallen to Ork attack or faced open rebellion, yet many sections of the wall bare scars from attempts from the most brazen of Orkish Warlords and rumored servants of the Defaced.

Demographics

A majority of the population is composed of humans and subsequently dwarfs though a majority of the ruling class is composed of the ancient elves who have stayed in these lands despite the blight and hardship brought upon them. While these lands did originally belong to Elves of Oruktuul, with the burning of the Suran lands many humans fled here in hopes of seeking aid and to escape the unforgiving deserts they were unaccustomed to, with many eventually falling to the power of the Dark Mistress. It was only with the defeat of the Dark Mistress and the loss of the dwarf homelands that this region was retaken and order restored.

Government

Dol'hasmen'belorukas is ruled by a Diarchy of the Watchers who rule the city-keeps that are found on either end of the great wall. The Watchers have almost complete control over their respective city-keeps and will generally leave matters civil to the Bal'Esheld while they focus on maintaining their fleet (In the case of the Sea-Keep) or deepguard (In the case of the Mountain-Keep).

Defences

While many pieces of art and poems describe the Silvered Wall as a single unbroken and unmarked wall that stretches from the mountains to the sea, this has not been the case for over 1500 years. The Silvered Wall does still stand yet bares thousands of marks from hundreds of battles over the centuries, with little of the original dwarf artestry remaining. The original walls are joined by two others that have been constructed since the city-keep's inception, the Iron Wall, and the Bronze Wall, both of which acting as failsafes when the Silvered Wall is breached. Many tower-towns also dot the wall, with small communities of primarily Mensha'bel and their families living in them, keeping watch for any signes of raids. Inside each tower-town contains a store of weapons, armor, and supplies that could last upwards of 3 years in that section were to be cut off from the support network.

Industry & Trade

The second largest trade port in the world, ships from across the globe travel carrying those slated to join the Mensha'bel and deliver tithe to keep the world safe.

Infrastructure

Every building is built with reinforcements facing south, and layed defense that would cause any attacker from the blighted land to fight tooth and nail to get to the great tower that stands at the center of the City-Keeps. Great focus is put on allowing ease of movement the futher north you go so that vital supplies can reach any section of the wall that needs it.

Assets

The greatest stores of steel weapons and defense siege equipment is built withing the walls of these city-keeps. It is said that modern warfare is studied here for the express purpose of seeing the back and forth between the Ork's ferocity and Dol'hasmen'belorukas's ingenuity.

Guilds and Factions

  • Mensha'bel: The Last Watchers of the Wall is a group composed of volunteers, thieves, and former soldiers who are judged by their own lands to be troubled yet not marked by darkness. Once only composed of Elves, Highmen, and Dwarfs the guard has had to open up recruitment to all after the fall of the Southern Dwarf olds and the diminishing population of elves and highmen. They notably only wield fresh-forged weapons when going beyond the walls, with any weapons they do return with being melted down and sold as scrap iron to various kingdoms to the north
  • Bal'Esheld: The Unseeing Voice of Eternity is a group of mysterious wizards with an indeterminate number of members from varying races and creeds. Each wears a mask made from a pure white metal that bares no marks and seems to obscure the presence of these wizards from one's vision. These individuals work alongside the Mensha'bel to ensure no darkness intrudes on the city and that the Dark Mistress stays within her mysterious city of mirrors.
