Geistalon Terminal

A sun in the far reaches of the arm of a spiral galaxy. A gas giant, fifth from it's sun and a moon encircling it. The moon is not hospitable, but it is habitable and above orbits the station Geistalon Terminal.   The station contains at it's core the remanants of the Gate Ship Geistalon which suffered from severe engine failure while in the system. The Gate components were damaged, but enough of the ship was salvaged that a station could be built.   Resources from the planet an the system's nearer asteroid belt, were used to contrust the Gate some years later. Geistalon Terminal was a major stop on the Gate lines for decades and a prosperous mining system.   Then, thirty years ago, the Gate malfunctioned, tearing a transport ship to pieces and killing hundreds of people. The Gate was repaired, but the source of the trouble was never isolated and the destination was never added back to the public lists. No ships have been destroyed since, but sometimes they disappear.   People still live here, though, and people need things. Food, parts, luxuries, transportation. That's where you come in.
