Geas

The beginning of this age was the end of a great war where gods battled demons and devils and either would crush cities and mountains with little more than a misplaced step. In return for our allegiance in this war we were left with The Blessing. The exact nature of The Blessing is or was is shrouded in legend and religious metaphor but The Blessing banished the demons and devils and spread peace across the land putting an end to the war.   Nations rose and fell, Mestraheim is the only remaining city from before The Blessing, perhaps it has a connection to the gods because it has endured, perhaps it has endured because of it’s connection.   Thane crossed the sea to plant flags at Firstharbor, and spread quickly pushing into former Ishar as it was called until the northern half revolted leaf by Aelorin Vorkol and became Aelor. With the collapse of it's military might, the southern portion's government fell apart in the wake of it's defeat and became Igdris, and taking to the sea determined to make their mark not through soldiers but through trade, commerce, and a complete domination of the waves.   The Kandori Plains were, at one point, a unified nation under a High King. Eventually High King Turshaal was crowned. His corruption grew, and his heresy with it. Eventually it was too much for Kaand, as it was then called, and each city re-sanctified itself and Dedicated a temple to their chosen deity, instating the theocracy.   Some say Hoid rose from the ocean, and Tlalatl floated up from south of the Dawnsea sometime after The Blessing.
