Lightning Ram

The lightning ram is a species of sheep native to the Western Continent.

Description

Both male and female lightning rams have large, curled, bioluminescent horns which they are capable of strobing to disorient potential predators.  These horns, like the horns of their mundane counterparts, have large cores that serve to protect the brain by absorbing the impact of crashes. Should one of these horns be collected from the skull of a lightning ram, the horn can be crafted into an instrument capable of "catching" lightning.      If struck by lightning, they become Dire Rams.

Dire Rams

(might need to workshop a new name due to the existence of druidic Dire Animals, unless we want Dire Dire Rams)
Should a Lightning Sheep happen to be struck by lightning, they will not die - instead, they will become a Dire Ram. A dire ram will not die of old age or disease, but will instead keep growing larger (though their required food, air, and water are the same as when they were small), though they'll stop having children after 10 years. They will also become smarter and stronger over time and have a natural ability to compel non-dire lightning rams/sheep to follow their orders. A dire ram's horns also contain an inherent electric shock they can use to electrocute foes.   Dire rams and lightning rams can interbreed with both each other and mundane sheep, though their power will become diluted with each successive generation.
