They are black veins that appear after the great break happened. There are multiple stages. But only 10% survive the process of becoming a mage.

Causes

The beginning is the great break when the hearth starts having black blood instead of red blood.

Symptoms

Between stages the only simtoms are that everyone see that you have black blood(beside between stage 2 and 3 in them you can randomly make spells and between 4 and final stage when you see magical vision), but when you move from one stage to another you can have fevers, vomiting and more.

Treatment

There are no treatments when you have the macula, if you really want you can make it go slower at max.

Prognosis

There are many stages.

The second stage is when the blood reach the fingers of the nearest arm to the heart, in it you start doing spells randomly

In 3 stage you control the spells you cast, no longer being randomly

In 4 stage the blood reaches the mind, so you start having magical dreams something that can remain with you for the rest of your life or at the end of the stage it is no longer

And the final stage, in it the macula is every part of you, being very powerful and your life expectancy is 2 times bigger

You can't be protected from the disease.

This is not a sickness, is a gene that activates around the age of 6.

History

The first case of the condition is of the god of magic that technically created it .

Cultural Reception

They are not feared, some people are sad for them, because a macula carier can very possibly die at an young age.

People see the condition trough they're veins that becomes over time black because of the expansion of the substances.
