Noxious Skull Item in Gates of Eternity | World Anvil

Noxious Skull

With bestiary of beastmen lands of southern and eastern Lana never succesfully compiled, one can only wonder what sort of marvelous - and terrifying - things live there. Noxious Skull was supposedly crafted from some terrible being that lived there - an archdaemon? Some terrifying beast? - that after being a threat for the beastmen for long was finally slain by their warlord Hargull the Skulltaker, which was enough of an achievement to elevate him to the position of united leader of a vast coalition of clans and tribes.   Hargull Skulltaker received his nickname from a habit of collecting skulls of creatures - sentient, beasts and daemons alike - he managed to slain, creating from them a variety of crafts. While most of his 'arts' were a simple, mundane items, there was one exception. Namely, the skull he made from his unnamed enemy.   It can be only guessed how its special abilities were discovered, since whoever achieved it, surely died. Noxious Skull - later on remaded into a fancy chalice, decorated with reliefs showing Hargull defeating and beheading various enemies (no idea which one was the one the Skull was made from) - changes every liquid put into into extremely murderous poison.   This poison is so deadly that a single sip from the Skull is more than capable of causing a many hours long agony to a high dragon, with typical mortals dying within a seconds. Even daemons - or at least majority of them - is vulnerable to this abominable liquid. Even diluted in water it is still extremely potent, with no specialized antidotes existing, and with only few strongest general antidotes capable of at least prolonging agony.
