Slaughter rock

In 1645 the bodies of 68 sailors were discovered strewn upon the rocks, with only small fragments of the boat were discovered on the water a mere 40ft from the bodies

The heat was so high that the ocean air carried the smell of rotting on the once water logged sailors to the next village

This rock cluster off the bay has become the memoir and mystery of Birrdle bay.
