SC2020 - The Last War / The War for the Core / The All War

It had been more than a century since the last Fusion Core Reactor had been found. While the Core Explorers still went around the world, all the legendary tales was of explorers long ago. Then someone found a new core and war broke loose. Everyone wanted the new Fusion Core Reactor for themselves – or at the very least ensure that the other great cities did not get a hold of this core. Thus, all the cities went to war. This was a miserable everyone against everyone war where alliances were rapidly formed and broken. The “capture the core” nature of the war meant that only one city could truly win and therefore no-one truly saw anyone as more than a temporary partner used to further their gain. A partner that you should probably betray, before they betrayed you. The great city of Ydexli was particularly great at this, and actually managed to maneuver the core into their possession. This caused an alliance between all the other great cities to deny Ydexli this power. Of cause while everyone was working together to capture the core from Ydexli, they all plotted as to how best ensure that they themselves where the one to capture the core and bring it home to their city. Meanwhile Ydexli was not blind to the fact, that everyone was coming for them, they had known this would happen before they had set their plans into motion and had counter measures prepared. The new core they had acquired was not to add to the city’s power supply, instead it was solely to be used for military purposes. It was to fuel the largest rail-gun ever known to man. The exact details of how this all went down is lost to history, but the results were that Ydexli’s own core blew up in spectacular fashion, laying waste to much of the city. Neither did the new found core survive. The loss of a great city and a additional core became the start of what could have been a perpetual war amongst all the great cities if it wasn’t for the foundation of the City Senate.
