Anatomy

Atriabliss, although typically used to refer to a specific flower, is actually a group of 7 different species of plant. Each species shares a few characteristics, such as the bright green stems, darker green leaves with diamond shaped spots dotted around the surface, and long thin flower petals that bloom along the highest third of the stem.

Growth Rate & Stages

Most atriabliss plants take around 6 months to grow, and go through 4 main growth stages. The first stage is the growth and spread of the roots in the soil, usually taking around 2 weeks. The second stage is the sprouting of the initial stem, which usually takes another two weeks. The third stage is the continuing growth of the stem and the leaves, which typically takes around 3 months. You can determine how late in stage three a plant is by looking at the leaves and seeing how dark those diamond like spots have become - a darker spot means the plant is later in its growth stage. The final stage is the growth and blooming of the actual flower, which takes up the final two months.

Ecology and Habitats

Contrary to typical plant life, atriabliss prefer dark, shaded places to grow and thrive. Forest areas and woods, particularly the deeper in these areas you go, are common habitats for these plants. You can normally find small gatherings of around a 15ft radius, and can guarantee that where one atriabliss is growing, there are sure to be more around if only you dare to look a little further.

The Atriabliss flower is the main component of healing potions throughout Garlan. They produce strengthening affects on vitality and an enhanced ability to repair skin and muscle tissue when crushed and combined with water, bone dust, and the fresh remains of a firefly.
It's affects vary in strength depending on the species of Atriabliss and the amount used. Flowers of some species have more potent affects than others, although the two strongest species are avoided as components in healing potions as they tend to have negative affects, even in small doses.
