Val's Energy, Aura

Long ago, when the world was young, the goddess Val roamed this land among Her creations. She loved all of Her children, from the tiniest flower to the greatest beast, and so She had decided to give them a gift.
She gave up Her physical form and Her power over the land, giving it instead to the world itself. Every rock, every plant, every being was now filled with Val's blessing, all eternally connected.
Those beings that learn to live in harmony with Val, that attune themselves to Her gift, can manipulate the world to their will just as She once did.
It is our privilege, not right, to be born into these powers. No being worthy of Val should ever abuse her gift.

Manifestation

Val's energy (often called Aura) is invisible and has no physicality. It can be imagined as a liquid covering the whole world, filling all and every gap between all and every atom. While Aura flows through everything, it specially ties itself to living organisms, which is known as the creature's personal aura.
Nature beings and Thaumaturges are attuned to their aura. They can sense it, and, with enough practice, they can then tap into it and extend it outwards. Then, through precise movements, they can control the way Aura flows through other things, which affects their very nature and structure. This practice is known as Weaving .

Localization

While Val's energy has been confirmed to exists everywhere within the known world (though under different names outside of Valessia) there is one place where it no longer exists. The tainted plains of Ruin have been permanently rid of their Aura during an explosion of a thaumaturgical factory.
It is not known why or how this is possible. Believers say that it was Val's sacrifice in an effort to stop the war, while High Thaumaturges of the Academy attribute it to the Thaumic Crystal's destructive effects.

Feeling the Aura Being attuned to Val's energy feels like being enveloped in a soft cloud. It is a warm, welcoming embrace. Newly attuned Thaumaturges sometimes spend many days after attuning simply laying in bed, enjoying the soft feeling.
